My first experience with Vee Dubs was when I was 1 to 3 or so. My did had a 1966 Bug, java Green with Tan interior. He traded that in for a red and white 1967 Deluxe bus. And yea I have vivid memories of riding in both. That made me a VW fanatic for life. Fast Forward to 1980. Around the corner from where we lived was a family with a '66 bug for sale and Dad bought it. 1984, one year after I graduated high school, one of my former teachers had a '66 sunroof bug for sale. I bought it. We still have both. in 1998 I bought a '69 Westy, Named Heinz, I still have and drive and have lived in! My collection now includes, '63 rag top, '65, '64 and a '71 super. I also have a '66 tin top westy and a barn full of parts and cars. My dad has 2 busses. Most are in various states of disrepair, but over the last year or so, My sons, who are both VW fanatics, and I have been working to get them all running. My son Donnie is a mechanical wizard (genius!) and has just aquires an original Okrassa kit for my '63. We have a couple of Falcon projects we're working on but the '63 and '65 are on deck for work soon! OH the stories I have about my experiences with these craxy cars! Heck, Heinz is often a DJ booth!! I have a YouTube Channel; Prater's Mechanical Mystery Tour https://www.youtube.com/@pratersmechanicalmysteryto4634
