The VW Sickness

Mark started his assocation with aircooled Volkswagen back in 1981 when he built his first off road award winning sand car it was a Sand Sprite II rear engine VW powered beauty which he still has and was asked to be a feature car at the Pismo Reunion a few years ago. I guess you could say that Mark has been around for a while in the VW community.

From there fast forward a few years and he and Angela reunited after dating in highschool and sparked a romance and started a family, Mathew, Lauren, Emilee all of which are grown and currently off the payroll.

Mark and Angela got involved in the aircooled VW scene when they took the sand car to 2014 Bug Bash in Yukon, Oklahoma. Our next VW we purchased was a 1969 Volkswagen squareback of which was owned by a really great guy Marcus Walton in Panama City Florida. Marcus Taught both of my girls to surf while they were in Florida for a dance competition. He owned and operated Mojo Surf Co.

A little after that Marcus decided to move to Puerto Rico to work and surf so he could not take his beloved squareback with him and decided to sell it and contacted Mark and asked if he wanted to buy it and Mark did with the agreement that if Mark ever sold it he would give Marcus first shot at buying it back, Mark agreed to it and became the proud owner of the squareback.

Coffee and Cars is where they met Brad Mohler the club president of The VW Club Of Oklahoma City in 2015. From that point we joined the club and were asked to be a part of the club board of directors and have served in numerous positions and currently Mark is the President and Angela is a board member at large. So many things to cover. We had an amazing french bulldog Weber yes like the carburator

We currently own 20 Volkswagenns. We get asked what all do you have in your collection and I always say its easier to list what we dont have in the collection, we dont have a Double Cab either Split or Bay, we dont have a Split Bug, we dont have a Thing, we dont have a Notchback or Fastback, or a type 4 . All of our volkswagens have stories of which we love to share to all that inquire. We also travel each year and attend numerous Volkswagen shows across the midwest to not only promote our club, The VW Club of Oklahoma but enjoy seeing friends in the community. We have also been a large help with other shows by offering assistance, volunteering, judging, and traing others on the use of the Carshow Pro software as well.

We own/operate a full service, repair and restoration business Baumgartens VW Krankenhaus, Little Miss Sunschein embroidery business and Pressure Solutions LLC. Our collection of Volkswagens/ memorabilia has been featured in Hot VWs Magizine December 2019 issue. We offer all of our Volkswagens for rental to photographers, wedding parties for getaway vehicles.

We have been asked to be Hot VWs magazine contrubitors of which we had our first article published in the March issue of the magazine, with more to come that we cant discuss as of yet. There is so much to cover. It can truly be a curse or sickness, the trips going after the cars, the story each vehicle has and just the love for the VW community as a whole. So our story can be very long and informative. We have Facebook, instagram and youtube pages as well.
