My VW story starts at the age of 9yrs old. My dad bought a 64 yellow baja bug so we could learn to drive in the desert. We beat the hell out of it and became master riggers to keep it running. At 15yrs old I got my 1st car a 65 sunroof bug and it took off from there. Growing up in Corona Ca. The VW culture was thick. Had a 21 window bus, a 63 baja, a 66 bug, my pride and joy 59 vert and countless other VWs. During the housing crash of 2007 i sadly sold it all including the house. After being lost in life for a few years I ended up landing in Pass Christian Mississippi where I started a small but successful Handyman Buisness. So what does a poor kid do when he starts making some money? He buys everything he wishes he could have had as a kid.
I currently own 73 Thing, 59 shriners vert, 65 bug, 74 baja thing, 74 thing, Turbo Rail, 59 semaphore bug, 69 Bay Vert, 65 11 window and a 59 Double Cab. The fun for me is the chase. Once I have what I what I was chasing in my garage its on to the next chase. Sadly I work so much I don't get to enjoy my VWs like I should. Things like your podcast get my blood pumping again and my attention back on my cars.
